Sarah Elliott: Sample Lesson for Parents
Promoting Digital Citizenship for Parents:
- Story of Parsifal as an analogy of how protecting children from things can make them more vulnerable.
- A video about positive use of the internet / sort experience in a future environment - perhaps ‘shift happens’?
- Explain concept of digital citizenship. digital literacy, wellbeing, and how “safety “ online is a combination and balance of these.
- Practical activity trying out one of the activities to demonstrate using the internet creatively.
- Present pathway for student groups (our 4 year plan)

Hello, my name is Chris Aplin and I am the Teacher in Charge at Glan-Y-Nant Learning Centre. The Centre is a 24 place PRU with Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils serving the whole of the Caerphilly Local Authority. I have been in post since September 2014 and am new to Caerphilly having previously worked in Carmarthenshire, RCT and Swansea.

I also have a 6yr old Cocker Spaniel named Cari, a 3yr old boy named Gruff and a 1 year old daughter named Ffion.

Hi, I'm Chris Norman, the Network Manager at Newbridge School. Having worked in Education for 18 years, I have a big interest in helping children achieve, and being responsible for helping them to do so.
My main passion outside my job is as an advocate for e-Cigarettes and vaping, for which I host a weekly show, discussing new hardware, news, reviews, and legislation.
