Lloyd's key moment.

Here is Lloyd's key moment when reflecting on staff and digital technology.

  1. Well said Lloyd... a great insight to how teachers will naturally use new technology in a professional capacity!
    (great framing too!) =]

  2. Hi Lloyd, I have started using Hwb with very small group of pupils first because I am aware that staff in school are bogged sown with other things, but I think this is a good way to get them on board and will try it this way rather than leading them through it.

    1. I'd be very interested to see how you get on with your trial group of pupils, Janine - keep me posted!

  3. I agree and think that it's important that staff are given the freedom to explore, but also that trust is placed in staff as these technologies will have a significant impact on productivity and learning.

  4. I was pleased to note that the staff in Lloyd's school have embraced the new initiatives and that they are happy to be working at their own pace. Do we have too many platforms/ methods of communicating within Caerphilly? Should we simplify what we offer staff or give them as many options as possible? Is variety the key to good provision?

    1. I was of the view that uniformity was the way forward but now think that there are so many really useful tools freely available that some will suit some better than others. Although there are benefits in terms o staff development if agreement is sought on solutions.

  5. Super! Always good to let staff play with new things- it's how we learn as much as how kids learn new things. When we initially had iPads in school we gave them out to teachers just before the summer hols and let them play with them and get used to them- these staff are now very comfortable using them.
